A Place to Belong: Oak Lawn Place Opens Its Doors

On Monday, Oak Lawn Place celebrated its grand opening, marking a major milestone for Dallas’ LGBTQIA+ community. Located on a two-acre site with mature trees and a creek view, this new 84-unit affordable housing development is designed to meet the needs of older LGBTQIA+ adults, offering an affirming and inclusive living environment.

Developed through a partnership with the Resource Center and supported by the Dallas Housing Opportunity Fund (DHOF), Oak Lawn Place provides modern, accessible amenities such as step-in showers, wheelchair-wide doors, and a state-of-the-art gym. Residents will enjoy on-site activities, social programs, and the convenience of a location near public transportation and healthcare services.
